Aycliffe Fabrications have added “Art” to their long list of achievements by producing the centrepiece for a garden project at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead.
A Landscape Architectural product enhancing public areas. The garden at the Mental Health Unit Tranwell, is a two year project overseen by Artist in Residence Neil Canavan who designed the gazebo and worked with the creative team at Aycliffe Fabrications to put his design into production. It is believed to be unique in its imaginative and creative use of stainless steel.
David Spensley Director of Aycliffe Fabrications gave the entire build project of the gazebo to Senior Tradesman John Flanagan who fabricated the structure over a four week period.
John 26, who has worked for the company for 9 years said “this is one of the most interesting and challenging projects that I have been given, the roof structure is in twelve segments and had to be absolutely accurate at all stages. It was a pleasure to see the finished project in place and I hope it gives a lot of people a lot of pleasure for many years to come”
Artist Neil Canavan said “I am really pleased with the gazebo. It looks really effective. Aycliffe Fabrications did a great job and it has already received admiring comments. This is a very unusual and very distinctive project.
